About Our Fitness & Personal Training Courses

At International Fitness Institute, our goal is to ensure that our students are the very best they can be and are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to build a new career in the fitness industry after graduating from our personal training courses. With this goal in mind, we developed the Elite PT program to provide a viable alternative to the traditional Certificate IV in Fitness.

Most people are aware that there are a plethora of qualified PT’s out there, but how many actually remain in the industry and carve out successful full-time careers?

IFI saw a distinct need to produce high quality graduates who could not only acquire the relevant skills to enter the industry quickly, but could be successful as a fitness professional long-term. We achieve this by delivering fitness courses as a professional mentorship that is similar in many ways to a traineeship.
The way we structure our Fitness Coach and Elite PT programs require graduates to actually train people and apply relevant skills in a real workplace with guidance from industry professionals who have ‘been there and done that’. The way we look at it, all of the knowledge in the world is useless unless it can be applied safely and appropriately.

The way we structure our personal training courses provides our students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve their fitness career goals.

IFI Personal Training Philosophy

At the International Fitness Institute, we stand behind our tagline with all personal training courses we deliver. We are truly ‘agile, flexible and industry-driven’.

Agile

We respond quickly and effectively to the latest fitness industry trends by continuously updating our learning and assessment materials. This ensures that IFI students are better prepared to offer fitness and personal training services that are current, evidence-based and innovative.

In addition, we stay abreast of the latest developments in adult learning (both online and face-to-face) to ensure that students have the best possible study experience. As a case in point, we have custom developed our own learning management system to ensure that you have access to our learning and assessment resources anywhere, any time.

Flexible

We make the training process as easy and hassle-free as possible with fitness courses that combine online and real-world learning. We also offer a flexible course design that allows you to complete your training at a pace that suits you and allows you to work around other life commitments.

You have control over how, when and where you study and you will not be forced onto a linear learning path. We believe a flexible course structure allows you to learn in a way and at a pace that is most beneficial to you.

Industry-Driven

A key driver in the development of our fitness courses is to produce graduates with the right set of skills that meet the needs of the industry. Everything about our model is aligned towards providing graduates with the technical, interpersonal and business acumen to succeed as a fitness professional right from the word go.

This is why we have a comprehensive list of industry partners who actively seek out our students and keep us informed about their changing needs. In fact, we regularly ask our industry partners to contribute content that is published in the ‘Industry Skills’ section of the course.

We know the fitness industry because we are the fitness industry! IFI Directors Brad McGregor and Greg Lacy also own ‘The Training Ground’ which is the largest personal training studio in Brisbane. Our course mentors are not only successful personal trainers, they are also strength and conditioning coaches and fitness business owners.
